2017

  • Had a great senior season, serving as a spark plug at the top of Mizzou’s order for much of the year.
  • Finished the year hitting a career-best .291 while posting a team-best .271 mark in SEC games.
  • Played in 41 games, starting 35, and boasted a .388 in-base percentage.
  • Slugged a pair of homers and four doubles while driving in nine runs and scoring 25 more
  • Sparked a series win at Georgia while starting in the leadoff position for the first time, scoring four runs with three stolen bases over the final two games of that series, reaching base at a .500 clips in that series
  • Hit his first homer of the year against Illinois (4/4), a solo shot
  • Hit a big, game-winning two-run homer in game two at Tennessee (5/19) to help Mizzou win its second consecutive SEC series
  • Of his 37 hits, 19 came during SEC games and he finished with 11 multi-hit games, seven of which came against SEC teams.

2016 FALL

  • Had an on-base percentage of .294 in six fall games.
  • Went 2-for-14 (.143) including a double and an RBI.

2016

  • Hit .235 with eight doubles, two homers, 21 runs and 12 RBI in 35 games (31 starts) as he missed early parts of the schedule with a broken hand.
  • Slugged .357 in 115 at-bats with 41 total bases and both of his homers came in SEC play.
  • Elevated his batting average to .247 while slugging .388 in 25 SEC games (22 starts) with six of his eight doubles and both of his homers coming in league games.
  • Went 2-for-3 with a run and a walk at Florida International (2/24) but hurt his hand that game and was out until pinch running at Florida on March 18 (14 games) … He scored the game-tying run in the top of the ninth inning at Florida as a pinch runner after he returned.
  • Returned to the starting lineup as a position player against Vanderbilt on March 27, going 1-for-3 with a run and two RBI … That sparked a seven-game hit streak with six RBI, three doubles, a homer and eight runs scored in that span.
  • Hit a three-run homer at Arkansas (4/3) to clinch a 10-1 rubber game win in Mizzou’s first SEC series win of the season in the Sunday game.
  • Homered against LSU (4/16), a solo shot to left field.
  • Had a pair of doubles in the series opener at South Carolina (4/22)
  • Hit safely in 10 of his final 13 games, tallying 12 hits in those games with two of those 12 hits being doubles.
  • At one point, he reached base safely in 15 consecutive games, the second-longest streak by a Mizzou player in 2016 … Ended the season by reaching base safely in his final six contests from the leadoff spot.
  • Five of his 12 RBI in 2016 came with two outs.


2015- McLENNAN COMMUNITY COLLEGE

  • Hit .386 in 60 games with three homers while driving in 49 and scoring 60 runs.
  • Dynamic on the base paths with 19 steals while being caught just four times
  • Boasted an OBP of .444 and a tremendous OPS of 1.006.
  • Added 20 doubles and four triples as 27 of his 81 hits went for extra bases as he slugged .562 on the year.
  • Led McLennan to a 41-19 record on the season 
  • Upped his game in conference play, hitting ..443 with 15 of his 20 doubles and 36 of his 60 runs (32 games). 
  • Walked 24 times on the season while striking out just 32 times in 210 at-bats.

2014 - FRESHMAN SEASON (NEW MEXICO)

  • Hit .184 (7-for-38) in 38 games, including six starts, but was mostly used as a pinch runner and defensive replacement 
  • Late in the season he scored in five straight appearances when coming in as a pinch runner
  • Started the first three games of the season at San Diego and hit .273 (3-for-11), including his first multi-hit game on Feb. 16
  • Other multi-hit game came in a start a at Texas Tech on March 4
  • First career extra-base hit came as part of a 1-for-4 performance vs. UNLV on March 9
  • Scored two runs after entering as a pinch runner and staying in the outfield against San Diego State on May 4.

  • Born on June 21, 1994, to John and Mary McGuire in Round Rock, Texas
  •  Father played baseball at the University of Nebraska-Omaha
  • Played for head coach John Carter and the Dragons at Round Rock High School
  • Dragons were two-time District 16-5A champions in 2012 and 2013
  • Two-time first team All-District in 2012 and 2013 as well
  • Played two years of football was second team All-District in 2012 
  •  Team MVP for both football and baseball as a senior in 2013
  • United States Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete Award Winner
  • Favorite athletes are Russell Wilson and Craig Biggio 
  • Loves BBQ, cheeseburgers and chicken fried steak
