REDSHIRT SENIOR (2015-16)

• In only season with Mizzou, posted a 23-5 record overall and a 12-2 dual record, recording seven major decisions (tied second-most), five falls and one technical fall.
• Was awarded the “Ed Lampitt Total Tiger” Award for his dedication and success off the mat in the classroom and community, as well as his performance on the mat.
• Finished one-win shy of All-America status at NCAA Championships, posting a 3-2 record in the historic Madison Square Garden (March 18).
• Won the MAC Championship at 174 pounds (March 6), defeating No. 11-ranked Mike Ottinger (Central Michigan) in championship bout. Defeated No. 8-ranked Cody Walters (Ohio) in semifinal action.
• Ranked tied for third on the team with 12 dual wins.
• In Mizzou debut, defeated Kyle Lux via fall (6:37), helping Mizzou come from behind to defeat Northern Iowa 24-19 and extend win streak to 30 consecutive dual wins (Nov. 28).
• Took third at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 5), earning wins over ranked opponents against No. 20-ranked Ricky Robertson (Wisconsin) via fall (0:54), No. 19-ranked Brian Harvey (Army) via technical fall, 18-3, and No. 15-ranked Jadean Bernstein (Navy) by decision, 8-3.
• Defeated No. 6-ranked Cody Walters (Ohio), 5-4 (Dec. 13).
• Defeated No. 3-ranked Kyle Crutchmer (Oklahoma State) in SV-1, 3-1 (Jan. 22).
• Earned ranked wins over No. 18-ranked Nick Kee (Appalachian State) (Feb. 12) and No. 20-ranked Micah Barnes (Nebraska) (Feb. 21).
• Finished career with record of 79-25, (42-11 duals) with 16 major decisions, 14 falls and two technical falls.

REDSHIRT JUNIOR AT UVA (2014-15)

• Posted a 21-6 individual mark at 174 pounds, including a 13-2 dual record
• Racked up 56 total points in a season for the second consecutive campaign
• Finished 2nd at the ACC Tournament 

REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE AT UVA (2013-14)

• Went 22-8 as a redshirt junior and 15-5 in duals
• Captured the ACC title at 157 pounds
• Collected three major decisions and three pins
• Fastest pin came in 1:20
• Secured nine wins against eventual NCAA qualifiers

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN AT UVA (2012-13)

• Went 13-6, competing at both 157 pounds and 165 pounds during teh season
• Snagged three major decisions and two pins

FRESHMAN AT UVA (2011-12)

• During his redshirt season, he went 20-9 as an unattached wrestlers in open tournaments
• Placed at four tournaments, winning the Appalachian Open title 

BOYLAN CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL

• Two-time All-State and two-time All-American in high school
• Finished his high school career with a 154-20 record
• Four-time all-conference (NIC-10) selection and four-time NIC-10 Scholar-Athlete

PERSONAL

• Son of Martin and Debra Butler
• Has two brothers, Tyler and Alex
• Younger brother Alex is a freshman on the Mizzou Wrestling team
• Comes from a wrestling pedigree as his father wrestled at Amherst College
