• Tallied six home runs, third-most on the team, while adding eight doubles and a triple with 15 of his 35 hits on the year going for extra bases.
• Finished third on the team with 30 RBI and added 24 runs while slugging .356.
• Stole three bases and walked 13 times while being hit by six pitches.
• Homered in back-to-back games to open the season against Seton Hall (2/19-2/20), driving in five runs and scoring two more over those two games.
• Homered again in back-to-back games at Arkansas (4/1-4/2), driving in three runs over those two games.
• Had a team-high 11 at-bats with the bases loaded and delivered four times for a .364 clip on the year and reached base at a .410 clip with leading off an inning.
• Had nine two-out RBI on the year and hit .273 (15-for-55) with runners in scoring position.
• Second on the team with eight multi-RBI games.
• Tallied a career-high five RBI on three hits, including a homer, with a pair of runs scored against in-state rival Missouri State (4/26) … The three hits matched a career-high.
• Homered against Georgia (5/14) in game one of a doubleheader and drove in three runs.

2015

• Joined team in second half of the season after knee injury -- missed the first 38 games of the year. 
• Hit .265 while slugging .394 with seven extra-base hits. 
• Recorded multiple hits in five of the 19 games he started
• Missed a homerun by just a few feet to record an RBI triple in his first collegiate at bat
• Of his 16 hits, seven went for extra-bases, including a pair of homers in just 71 at-bats. 
• Tallied a pair of homers, one against SEMO over the Mizzou scoreboard in leftfield and one against Alabama, an opposite field shot.

• Born February 16, 1996 in San Diego, California to parents Andy and Jennifer Benes.
• His father, Andy, played Major League Baseball for San Diego Padres, St. Louis Cardinals, and Arizona Diamondbacks from 1989-2002. 
• Member of the National Honor Society in 2012-14.
• St. Louis Post Dispatch Scholar Athlete in 2014.
• Was named to the Honor Roll from 2011-14 for a 3.9 GPA.
• Plans to major in Business at Mizzou.

"Shane is an outstanding athlete with a very high baseball IQ. He understands where to be, when to be there, and is a proven winner. At the plate, his line drive approach along with solid power makes him one of the top high school hitters in the country. Defensively, he's got quick feet, quiet actions, and a very strong arm. He comes from a long line of baseball experience as his father, brother, and two uncles all have played professionally. We look forward to him contributing right away."
