Outlook: She spent her summer playing ITA Central Region events, claiming the ITA point lead in the region in August. This qualified her as the ITA Central Region's representative at the Summer National Championships in Indiana. She advanced through three rounds of play before falling in the quarterfinals to Tennessee's Natalie Pluskota, the tournament's eventual champion. Weber's fall 2009 campaign at Missouri was marked by receiving a No. 16 seed in the ITA Central Regionals in Norman, Okla. and advancing to the round of 16 before falling to the No. 2 seed from Wichita State. Weber also earned an "Ace For A Cure" title in singles' bracket one over teammate Jamie Mera.
"Mallory is one of the most athletic players I have ever worked with. She has a lot of weapons, and is a force in both singles and doubles. She has a pro style game, and is a lot of fun to watch," Missouri Head Coach Blake Starkey said. "When she is on, she is usually dictating play, and it takes a heck of an effort to decides to attack, it takes."
Mallory was born in Saint Louis, Mo., and is the daughter of Tom and Judy Weber. She began playing tennis when she was five-years-old, at a time when she was trying every sport imaginable. In juniors, she was coached by Shawn Walburn in Illinois. She primarily played Missouri Valley Sectional tournaments as well as numerous national events in juniors. She won the Missouri Valley Girls' 18 Super in 2006, and also won the Missouri Valley Sweet 16. Mallory was ranked No. 1 in the Missouri Valley, and was always ranked top-5, with her highest national rank at 69th. She also won the doubles and singles Collegiate ITA Challenger in Lawrence, Kan., a month before beginning class at Mizzou. One of her funniest tennis memories was in high school when she and her doubles partner were involved in a serious and tense match. Her partner took a bathroom break and returned to the court ready to compete with a serious expression ... and a two-foot piece of toilet paper hanging off her. Mallory played both tennis and softball during her senior year of high school, and interestingly, was an all-state selection for softball. Off the court, Mallory enjoys hanging out with friends, going to movies, and listening to music. Mallory specifically does not like Chinese food, scary movies, or doing laundry. Although there are many interesting things about Mallory, she considers the fact that she played three varsity sports in high school to be an interesting thing about her.
