Danielle Day was born in Tampa, Fla., and is the daughter of Julia and Ronald Day. She began playing tennis when she was six years at a time when she was trying every sport imaginable.

In juniors, she was coached by Alex Golub in Fla. She primarily played tournaments there as well as numerous national events. She won the Burger King Southern Open 16's in 2007. Day was ranked as high as No. 9 in the Florida Section, and was always ranked within the top 20. Her highest national rank was 51.

Off court, Day enjoys hanging out with friends, going to movies, and listening to music. Day specifically likes Chinese food, funny movies,and yoga.She specifically does not like being beaten in anything, scary movies, or spiders. Although there are many interesting things about Day, she considers the fact that she had the chance to travel across the nation to play tennis to be the most interesting thing about her.
