ABOUT MIZZOU
• Missouri owns a 13-4 overall record in 2025-26.
• The Tigers are in a five-way tie for first place in the SEC standings with a 3-1 league record.
• Mizzou is coming off an 84-74 win over Auburn Wednesday. Jayden Stone (22) and Mark Mitchell (20) both scored 20-plus points in the win.
• Mitchell leads the team with 17.5 points and 5.3 rebounds, while ranking second with 3.4 assists.
• Overall, five Tigers are scoring in double figures with Stone (14.7), Jacob Crews (12.1), Trent Pierce (10.8) and Anthony Robinson II (10.6) following Mitchell's lead.
• Robinson also leads the Tigers with 4.1 assists per game, while Shawn Phillips Jr. has a team-best 1.5 blocks per game.
• Mizzou is scoring 81.8 points during the 2025-26 campaign, while allowing 71.8.

ABOUT LSU
• LSU enters the weekend with a 12-5 overall mark and 0-4 record in SEC play.
• The Tigers fell in a tight contest on Wednesday, losing to Kentucky, 75-74.
• Dedan Thomas Jr. leads LSU with 16.2 points and 7.1 assists but has missed the last four games.
• Max Mackinnon (14.5), Michael Nwoko (14.4) and Marquel Sutton (13.1) also score in double figures.
• The Tigers own a scoring offense of 84.9 points with a scoring defense of 72.6.

SERIES HISTORY
• In a series that dates back to the 1980 NCAA Tournament, LSU holds a 12-5 lead versus MU.
• Mizzou, however, has had the better run as of late in the series. After LSU won 11 of the first 13, Missouri has won three of the last four.
• Last year, MU earned its first SEC win of the season with an 83-67 win at Mizzou Arena.

STRONG SEC START
• The Tigers enter the weekend one of five teams tied for first in the SEC with a 3-1 mark.
• It is just the second time that Mizzou is 3-1 through four SEC games since joining the league in 2012-13 (14 seasons).
• The Tigers also started 3-1 last season, winning their fifth game to improve to 4-1.

STONE NEARS 1,000 POINTS
• Graduate student Jayden Stone enters Saturday game within reach of a career milestone.
• In 79 career games, Stone has accumulated 972 points. He is now just 28 points shy of scoring 1,000 during his career.
• Stone would become the third active Tiger to reach the mark – joining Mark Mitchell (1,457), Jevon Porter (1,177) and Jacob Crews (1,125).

DEFENSE LEADS TIGERS
• One reason why Mizzou is off to a strong start in SEC play is due to its defense.
• In four conference games, the Tigers are allowing only 73.0 points per game. Mizzou currently ranks first in SEC games only in scoring defense.
• In 17 games overall, Mizzou has allowed 71.8 points per game, ranking fifth in the SEC.

MR. VERSATILE, MARK MITCHELL
Mark Mitchell has led the charge for Mizzou and has started the season on an elite level.
• Mitchell is averaging a team-best 17.5 points and 5.3 boards, while ranking second with 3.4 assists.
• In fact, he is one of only 11 players in the nation tallying 17 points, five boards and three assists.
• The last Tiger to average 17 points, five boards and three assists was Big Eight Player of the Year Anthony Peeler during the 1991-92 campaign.

VERSATILITY ON DISPLAY
• The good news is Mark Mitchell is playing his best basketball right now and showcasing his all-around abilities.
• In his last two games, Mitchell tallied 20 points, eight boards and seven assists at Ole Miss plus 20 points, five boards and five dimes versus Auburn.
• Mitchell is the first Tiger to register 20-5-5 in back-to-back games since Anthony Peeler did so during the 1991-92 season.
• Additionally, Mitchell was the first Tiger to record 20-8-7 in a game since Kareem Rush in 2001-02.

DIFFERENCE MAKERS
• It's been a welcomed return in SEC play for Trent Pierce and Jayden Stone.
• In its four SEC games, the duo has averaged a combined 27.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.8 steals in their returns from injury.
• The two combined for 40 points in the win over Auburn – both scoring season bests with Stone tallying a team-best 22 and Pierce adding 18.
• A starter last season, Pierce missed the first 13 games with a lower-body injury, while Stone had missed the last seven games of non-conference action with a hand injury.

MAGIC NUMBER IS 72
• The goal on the offensive end for the Tigers this season is simply to score 72 points.
• Mizzou is a perfect 13-0 when tallying at least 72 points but are 0-4 when failing to reach the mark.
• Overall, the Tigers are averaging 81.8 points during the 2025-26 season – tallying 87.9 points in their 13 wins and 62.0 in their four defeats.
