
Women's Golf Wins Johnie Imes Invitational

Mizzou women's golf earned its second straight win to open the 2025-26 season with a victory at the Johnie Imes Invitational on Tuesday following a canceled final round of play.
The Tigers finished 14-under (562) through two rounds on Monday before the third round was canceled due to inclement weather.
The win marks the first time Missouri has claimed consecutive tournament titles to begin the season since 1997.
Individually, senior Melanie Walker finished second at 6-under par to lead the Tigers. Walker birdied four holes in the back nine of her opening round to take an early lead in the tournament.
Coming off a record-setting victory in her collegiate debut, Ebba Liljeberg finished the tournament in third at 5-under after recording birdies on her final three holes of the second round.
Senior Addie Dobson claimed fourth in the final standings after a strong opening round of 4-under par, which featured six birdies.
Sophomore Fleur van Beek rounded out the Tigers' top performers. The sophomore is in fifth after notching an eagle to begin the back nine of her second round.
Cathryn Brown from Kentucky won the individual title after carding a 7-under 137.

Missouri will compete in the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.
