Tamar Bates and Caleb Grill are set to team up for one more game in their collegiate careers with the University of Missouri men's basketball duo named to the 2025 NABC-Reese's Division I College All-Star Game.
Bates and Grill are two of 10 players to feature on the East team at the All-Star game. The contest is slated for Friday, April 4 at 3:30 p.m. CT at the Alamodome as part of the Reese's Final Four Friday. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network and admission is free.
Bates averaged 13.3 points during his senior campaign, shooting 50.8 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from 3-point range and first nationally with a school-record 94.6 percent clip from the free-throw line. He earned second-team NABC All-Central Region honors following the season, adding 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
Joining Bates on the NABC All-Central Region Second Team and also named the SEC Sixth Man of the Year, Grill tallied 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. He led Mizzou with 78 made 3-pointers, ranking third in the SEC and 45th nationally with a 39.6 percent clip from beyond the arc.
The duo are the third and fourth Tigers in the last three years to be selected for the NABC All-Star Game, joining D'Moi Hodge in 2023 and Sean East II in 2024. Bates and Grill keyed the Tigers to 22 wins during the 2024-25 season as Mizzou finished sixth in a SEC that sent a record 14 teams to the NCAA Tournament.
