Freshman Trent Mierl carded his second-straight strong round on Monday as he led University of Missouri men's golf at the General Hackler Invitational in Myrtle Beach.
After a one-under 71 on Sunday, Mierl followed up with an even-par 72, tying for the team low for the second-straight day. An eagle on his second-to-last hole of the day allowed the rookie to move into the top 20 as he sits in 17th place overall (of 90 golfers) with a one-under mark through 36 holes.
Sophomore Veikka Viskari matched Mierl with an even-par 72, recording two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars. Viskari moved up 15 places on the leaderboard and is now 56th at +5 through two rounds of action.
