COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri volleyball will begin its 2025 spring season this Saturday in Chesterfield, Missouri, when the Tigers take on Illinois at 5 p.m., CT at The Beal Center in Chesterfield, Missouri. The contest will be free and open to the public.
The match will be hosted at The Beal Center (formerly Chesterfield Sports Complex), 150 N. Eatherton Road in Chesterfield.
The contest will mark the first weekend of the spring season for Missouri with the following competitions taking place throughout April.
Mizzou went 22-9 (11-5 SEC) in the 2024 season. Head coach Dawn Sullivan has guided the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament in each of her two seasons in Columbia, including a run to the NCAA Sweet 16 in this past season's tournament. Sullivan, named 2024 AVCA Central Region Coach of the Year, is 40-22 in two seasons at Mizzou and 149-60 overall as a head coach.
The Tigers will return 2024 AVCA All-American and back-to-back SEC Libero of the Year Maya Sands alongside 2024 All-SEC setter Marina Crownover. Both Sands and Crownover also earmed AVCA Central All-Region honors.
MU has picked up four transfers in the spring including Trinity Luckett, Caylen Alexander, Grace O'Reilly, and Tyrah Ariail along with freshman setter Taylor Cook. Four of Missouri's five signees from signing day have also joined the Tigers for the spring 2025 semester.
LOOKING AHEAD
- The Tigers will next host the Mizzou Tournament at Hearnes Center on Saturday, April 5, where they will face off against SIUE and Quincy. The competition will feature a three-team round robin format.
