COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri tennis heads to Norman, Oklahoma, to face No. 14 Oklahoma on Friday, March 7 at 5:00 p.m. CT. The Tigers then travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas, to compete against the Razorbacks at noon CT on Sunday, March 9.
Oklahoma is 8-3 overall and 1-2 in Southeastern Conference play. The Sooners are welcoming the Tigers after losing their last two matches on the road in Texas. OU first fell to No. 11 Texas, 3-4, in Austin before dropping its match to No. 5 Texas A&M in College Station, 6-1.
Arkansas is 3-7 overall and 0-3 in SEC action, losing its last six matches dating back to February 8. Most recently, the Razorbacks fell short to No. 5 Texas A&M on the road on Feb. 28, 7-0. While in Austin on March 2, Arkansas lost to No. 11 Texas, 4-0.
Before welcoming the Tigers on Sunday, Arkansas will be going up against No. 16 Vanderbilt on Friday, March 7, at Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at 5 p.m. CT.
Mizzou is heading into this road trip with momentum, coming off a ranked win over No. 55 Mississippi State on Sunday, March 2, 4-3. After this past weekend, the Tigers are ranked 69th nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Leading the Tigers in doubles is their No. 1 pair of senior Inah Canete and freshman Korina Roso, with a 14-6 record this season and a seven-match win streak. Canete in the No. 2 singles spot is 15-8 this year, while Lailaa Bashir is 11-9, competing primarily in the No. 3 slot.
