INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Mizzou alum Jack Dahlgren recorded another strong performance at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, swimming his way to a sixth-place finish in the final round of the men's 200-meter butterfly with a time of 1:56.63 Wednesday evening at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Dahlgren, who turned in a personal best of 1:55.65 in Tuesday's semifinal round, narrowly missed becoming the first Mizzou swimmer to earn a U.S. Olympic Team berth, as Thomas Heilman (1:54.50) and Luca Urlando (1:55.08) claimed the top two finishes to punch their tickets to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
A Victoria, Minn., product, Dahlgren was a five-year standout for the Tigers, capping his collegiate career by earning multiple All-America accolades in 2023, including first-team honors in the 200 free (5th) and the 200 back (7th) at the NCAA Championships.
