
Women's Basketball Inks Nikki Kerstein

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women's basketball has signed Nikki Kerstein as announced by head coach Robin Pingeton on Friday.
Kiersten, a four-time All-State honoree out of Montini Catholic, has averaged 14.6 points, 4.4 assists, 3.9 steals and 3.3 rebounds per game during her prep career. On pace to become a 2,000-point scorer, the point guard has totaled 1,513 points through her junior season.
Kiersten is extremely efficient beyond the arc converting 40.7 percent of her 3-point attempts. She claimed a third-place finish in the 2022 Illinois state 3-point competition.
Kiersten has played two seasons at Deerfield High School and a year at Montini. She has led her prep programs to two state final four appearances.
A dual citizen of Greece, Kerstein earned an invitation to join the country's U16 and U18 national teams for 2022-23 and 2023-24 respectively.
Off the court, the signee holds a 4.133 GPA and is an active volunteer with Special Olympics and Feed My Starving Children.
Both of Kerstein's parents are former collegiate athletes. Her mom, Anastasia played collegiately at UIC while her dad, Bill, competed at Harper College. Kerstein's sister Lexi is a current member of Vermont's women's basketball program.
Upon enrollment, she plans to major in broadcast journalism.
