
Mizzou Travels to Bradley for NCAA XC Regional Championship

Tigers look to qualify for NCAA Championship event
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri cross country team will travel to Peoria, Illinois to run in the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Friday, November 15 at the Newman Golf Course.
Rahel Broemmel, Nicole Louw, Charlotte Cullen, McKenna Revord, Natalie Barnard, Allison Newman, Anneken Viljoen and Kaia Downs will represent the Tigers in the women's contest at 11 a.m. CT. Ryder James, Drew Rogers, Blake Morris, Tyler Freiner, Declan Tunney, Joshua Allison, Jamie Mora and Brenden Heitzig will wear Black and Gold for the men's race, which will begin at noon.
Mizzou will compete against host Bradley, Saint Louis, Illinois-Chicago, Oklahoma State, SEMO, Kansas, Illinois, SIUE, Illinois State, Drake, Oral Roberts, Eastern Illinois, Oklahoma, Eastern Illinois, Chicago State, Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, Western Illinois, South Dakota, Creighton, Northwestern, Omaha, Loyola-Chicago, North Dakota State, Minnesota, Tulsa, Kansas State, Nebraska, Iowa State, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, DePaul, Iowa, Wichita State, Southern Illinois and Missouri State.
The women will run a 6k race in the regional competition while the men will contend in a 10k. In 2023, the men placed 11th as a team, paced by Morris who finished with a time of 31:46.6, while the women came in 12th.
The top two finishing teams in each region will secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships in Madison, Wisconsin, on November 23. The first four finishers not included in one of these at-large teams will also receive an auto-bid.
The NCAA D1 Cross Country subcommittee will select 13 teams at large from the regional to obtain a spot in the finals. In addition, only two individuals at-large will be chosen.
The Tigers are seeking their first trip as a team to the NCAA Championship event since the women did so in 2016. The most recent individual to qualify for the event is Marquette Harrison in 2022.
The regional will mark the second postseason matchup for the Tigers following the Southeastern Conference Championships held in College Station, Texas on Nov. 1. The men's team placed fifth and the women took 13th.
Drew Rogers led the men in the SEC Championships with an 11th-place finish and set a personal record of 22:54.1 in the 8k. For the women, Rahel Broemmel came out on top with a 19:39.7 personal best to place 13th. Both Tigers were named to the All-SEC Second Teams for their finishes.
