COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women's swimming and diving will travel to Fayetteville Saturday (October 12) to open its 2024-25 season against Arkansas.
Preliminary competition commences at 10 a.m. in the Arkansas Natatorium. Live results will be available via the Meet Mobile app.
Saturday's matchup will be the 30th meeting of the Tigers and the Razorbacks in the pool. Arkansas currently leads the series, 17-12, despite Mizzou claiming the last three meetings. The Tigers last faced the Razorbacks on Oct. 23, 2021, at Mizzou Aquatic Center. Mizzou swept the dual with a score of 174.50-125.50. The women won nine individual events as well as the 200 medley relay.
Last season, Missouri found success sending two athletes to compete at NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Sierra Smith and Zara Zallen highlighted the Tigers' SEC Championship performance, advancing to finals in the 100 free.
Missouri will send 21 swimmers and two divers to Fayetteville, including 19 returning veterans who are expected to compete for the Tigers Saturday.
TIGERS TO WATCH
Zallen returns for her sophomore campaign after posting the eighth-best time in Mizzou history in the 100 free last season (48.65).
Taylor Williams competed at the 2024 NCAA Qualifier in the 100 fly and 200 fly last spring. She earned a time of 52.62 in the 100 fly at SEC Championships as well.
Karolina Bank registered the fourth-best time in school history (59.97) in the 100 breast last season.
Katie Gresik will make her Missouri debut after turning in an impressive high school career. She earned a first place finish at the Illinois Senior Championship in the 1000-yard free with a time of 10:00.55.
Gabriela San Juan Carmona, a junior transfer, joins the Tigers after placing sixth in the 3-meter dive at the Big XII Conference Championships with a mark of 333.15.
