
Cross Country Awarded USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Distinction

Women’s track and field posts record-breaking GPA.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Men's and Women's Cross Country earned 2021 NCAA Division-I All-Academic Team honors, as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Additionally, senior Sarah Chapman (Maidenhead, England) earned the All-Academic individual distinction.
In order to qualify for the All-Academic team honor, a team must have a combined cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. As a team, the Mizzou women earned a cumulative GPA of 3.688, keeping their 26-year All-Academic team honor streak alive. The men's team earned a 3.192 GPA.
To qualify for the All-Academic individual honor, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and have either finished in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
Chapman, in pursuit of a Master's in Business Administration, recently finished 23rd at the NCAA Division-I Midwest Regional Championships. She has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25.
In addition to USTFCCCA honors, Cross Country and Track & Field had phenomenal fall semesters in the classroom. Women's Cross Country had a team GPA of 3.71 — the highest fall GPA on record. The men's Cross Country team had a GPA of 3.19.
Women's Track & Field had a team GPA of 3.64, also their highest fall semester GPA on record. This is the team's fourth-straight semester above a 3.5 GPA. Men's Track & Field had a team GPA of 3.11, which is the second-highest fall semester GPA on record.
