
Tigers Close Out FSU Match-Up Event

Veteran Noelle Beijer led the Tigers with her top-20 finish
TALLAHASSEE, FLA. – The University of Missouri women's golf team closed out the Florida State, annually held event, the Match-Up on Sunday afternoon in 11th place. The Tigers were led by fifth-year senior Noelle Beijer who claimed a top-20 finish. The team's best score came on the second day when they posted a collective score of 300 on the day.
Beijer bounced back from an opening round score of an 8-over 80 to fire a 3-under 69 the next day which was anchored by 5 birdies. She flew 32 spots up the leaderboard and signed off on the second lowest individual score of the day. Beijer went on to close the event with a 2-over 74, finishing tied for 18th place with a 7-over 223 to mark her second top-20 finish of the season.
Sophomore Emily Staples' performance was highlighted by her final round score of a 1-over 73. Her first two shots of the second day earned her an eagle on the opening hole as well. Staples ended up slotted at T-41 with a 16-over 232.
Juniors Brianne Bolden and Sophia Yoemans finished off the event tied for 55th and 60th place, respectively. Bolden carded a 5-over 77 to round out her 20-over 236 while Yoemans opened with her best round of a 3-over 75 on the first day. And finally, closing out Mizzou was sophomore Martina Muñoz who was new to the lineup this week. She tied her career-best score of a 3-over 75 on the second day after sinking three of her five birdies in a row on the back nine. She finished tied for 67th place.
UP NEXT: The Tigers return to action March 18-20 in Tucson, AZ for their co-hosted event with Kansas State, the Mountain View Collegiate.
