College Station, Texas. — Mizzou Track & Field concluded day one of the SEC Indoor Championships with 15 new personal records and three athletes qualifying for the finals on day two of the meet.

NOTABLE FINISHES

Martin Prodanov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) and Marquette Wilhite (Warrensburg, Mo.) both qualified for the men's 1-mile finals, placing 7th and 10th, respectively. Wilhite set a new PR and a Mizzou 10th place indoor record with a time of 4:03.89 while Prodanov ran a 4:03.40. Melissa Menghini (Fenton, Mo.) qualified for the women's 1-mile finals finishing 7th with a time of 4:41.89.

Savannah Nevels (Streetsboro, Ohio) and Rondajai Washington (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) moved into second and third place in the Mizzou indoor record book for the women's 200m with times of 23.91 and 24.02. Nevels also set a new PR and ninth-place indoor school record in the 60m with a time of 7.70.

Mitchell Weber (Saint Clair, Minn.) set a new personal best of 20.88m (68-6) in the men's weight throw, moving into fifth all-time in the Mizzou indoor record book. Ayele Gerken (Doerentrup, Germany) reset her third place indoor school record with a leap of 6.21m (20-4 ½) in the women's long jump.

Mizzou continues competition tomorrow at the SEC Indoor Championships. The action begins at 1:15 p.m. CT with the women's high jump. Track events will begin at 4:10 p.m. CT with the women's 1-mile and the meet will conclude with the men's 4x400m relay at 7:10 p.m.
