
Mizzou Heads into SEC Championship Week on Hot Streak

The Tigers enter the post season after consecutive second and first place finishes
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Tigers are set to tee off in their post-season competition at the SEC Championship in St. Simons Island, Ga. this week. The event includes three rounds of stroke play taking place from Wednesday to Friday, with the top eight teams advancing to match play on Saturday and Sunday. The slated field features all 14 Southeastern Conference programs, eight of which are ranked in the Top 25.
WHERE: The SEC Championship will take place at the Sea Island Golf Club (Par-70, 7,005 yards) in Sea Island, Ga.
WHEN: The event launches on Wednesday, April 21 and wraps up on Sunday, April 25.

Redshirt sophomore standout Ross Steelman headlines the lineup after winning the Missouri Tiger Invitational individual title to claim his second career win. His victory performance tallied his fifth season event under par with a 16-under 200. He is currently ranked 38th by GolfStat weekly rankings.
Senior Rory Franssen is set to compete in his fourth SEC Championship in the second slot this week. After back-to-back Top-25 finishes at the Hootie at Bull Bay and Tiger Invitational event, he looks to card his 60th career round under par.
Sophomore Yu-Ta Tsai represents the team in the third spot. Recently, he has posted two consecutive events under-par, one of which included his career-best finish tied for 14th at the Missouri Tiger Invitational.
In the fourth spot is junior Tommy Boone who has showcased strong consistency in the second half of the spring season. He fired his first career event under-par at the Missouri Tiger Invitational with a 2-under 214.
Rounding out the lineup is senior Walker Kesterson who secured his season-best finish of T-24 at the Missouri Tiger Invitational.
