Box Score

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mizzou Baseball (7-12, 0-2 SEC) dropped a hard-fought game 5-4 against Kentucky on Saturday afternoon. After a nail-biting stretch of five and a half scoreless innings, Kentucky pulled ahead before the Tigers tied it in the top of the ninth. The Wildcats won on a walk-off passed ball in the bottom of the inning.

Freshman CJ Cepicky began the scoring for Mizzou, roping a two-run triple into the left-center alley in the top of the second. He was plated on a sacrifice fly from junior Tre Morris.

Redshirt-sophomore starter Seth Halvorsen settled into the game after giving up a three-spot in the bottom of the third inning, exiting the game with six innings of otherwise scoreless ball. Freshman Ian Lohse relieved Halvorsen and was immediately electric, striking out the side and leaving the go-ahead runner at third.

The score stayed tied at 3-3 until the bottom of the eighth when Kentucky brought in a run on a sacrifice fly. Mizzou responded in the top of the final frame with an infield hit by senior Alex Peterson that scored senior Jackson Lancaster from third.
