Columbia, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball (3-5) finished its first home series of the 2021 campaign in a split with Omaha, falling short in the series finale, 9-3. The Tigers tallied five hits in the game which stood tightly contested until ninth inning.
The Tigers were locked in a 3-3 tie after putting up a two spot in the sixth inning, until a wind-blown base hit broke the game open for the Mavericks. The six runs in the top of the ninth proved too much to overcome.
Senior Spencer Juergens was a bright spot in the Tigers' bullpen, throwing four innings in relief and only giving up two hits. On the offensive side, freshman Ross Lovich tallied a hit in four at-bats, hitting .444 (4-for-9) in the series. Mark Vierling also had a base knock, extending his hitting streak to eight games.
