Isaiah McGuire Named SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week

Saturday marked McGuire’s fifth-straight game with a tackle for loss.
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Announced by the Southeastern Conference on Monday, junior Isaiah McGuire is the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week. Missouri football earned its fifth win of the season on Saturday with a 31-28 victory over South Carolina.
A Tulsa, Okla. native, McGuire racked up six solo tackles and 2.0 tackles for a loss of 17 yards – including one sack for a loss of 13 yards – in Missouri's Mayor's Cup win on Saturday. He forced and recovered the same fumble late in the first quarter; his turnover gave Mizzou the ball back to get on the scoreboard early in the second quarter.
Saturday marked McGuire's fifth-straight game with a tackle for loss. He also had two quarterback hurries against the Gamecocks. On the season, he's started all 10 games for the Tigers. He's totaled 31 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss of 42 yards and 4.5 sacks for a loss of 31 yards.
