Murgett and Oliveira Set to Compete in ITA All-Americans Tournament

Murgett will compete first in the singles qualifiers on Monday
Charleston, S.C. – Bronte Murgett and Marta Oliveira hit the road again to compete in the ITA All-Americans Tournament from October 4-10. This marks the first time in program history that a Mizzou doubles duo receive a bid to the tournament, and just the second time for singles competitor.
Murgett is primed to play in the qualifying singles held on October 4 & 5. Her first match will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. against #35 Fiona Crawley (North Carolina). Murgett will team up with Oliveira to contend in the main draw doubles held on October 6-10. Matchups have not yet been announced for the doubles tournament.
The ITA All-Americans tournament brings together the best tennis players from across the country. The singles portion of the tournament consists of 24 automatic qualifiers/wild-cards and eight play-in qualifiers. The doubles competition includes 16 at-large and returning ITA All-American teams, 12 regional representatives, three wildcards, and one National Summer Championship winner.
Murgett and Oliveira enter the competition with one of their strongest starts yet. After Mizzou took down UT Martin in a quick 2-0 sweep, the duo was invited to the ITA Milwaukee Classic. Murgett and Oliveira competed in the doubles portion of the tournament and advanced to the semifinals. Oliveira also won out in the singles back draw finals, wrapping up an impressive first appearance in the tournament.
