Soccer Releases Spring Schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Soccer released their 2020-21 spring schedule on Friday, Coach Bryan Blitz announced.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou Soccer released their 2020-21 spring schedule on Friday, Coach Bryan Blitz announced.

After posting a 4-3-2 record in the fall, the Tigers return with a seven-game slate against strong competition featuring No. 10 BYU and two games against No. 24 Kansas. In the fall, Mizzou finished undefeated at home with a 3-0-1 record.

The most notable of those home victories was against then-No. 13 Vanderbilt, who went on to win the SEC Tournament title.

Mizzou begins the spring schedule with an exhibition matchup with Drake (Feb. 21). Following the exhibition match, the Tigers will reopen the regular season facing off against the Creighton Blue Jays (Feb. 25).

The Tigers will then face a tough test when BYU travels to Columbia for a prime-time mid-week contest (March 3). The Cougars are coming off of a 21-1-1 season, with their lone loss coming to eventual National Champion Stanford in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament. BYU was ranked in the top-ten by Top Drawer Soccer in their first poll of the spring season.

Mizzou will then leave Mid-Missouri for the first time in the spring when they head to South Bend, Indiana for the first of two matchups with Notre Dame (March 13). The next weekend, the pair will face off in Columbia (March 21). Notre Dame finished the fall season ranked 14th in the United Soccer Coaches' poll.

Kansas State will travel to Columbia as the rival schools face off for the first time ever (March 27). Kansas State started their soccer program in the 2016 season, so the two schools would not have met as former Big 12 foes.

To close the regular season, Mizzou and Kansas will face off in back-to-back Border War matchups. The first game will be in Lawrence (April 10). Then, the following weekend the rivals will dig in for a season-finale showdown in Columbia (April 17). This will be the first time the two teams have seen other since the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The two programs have only seen each other twice since Mizzou joined the SEC, each time in the NCAA Tournament.
