FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Mizzou Track & Field finished day one of the 2021 SEC Indoor Championships on Thursday evening in Fayetteville Arkansas, highlighted by securing two top-10 finishes and setting multiple personal records on the day.

NOTABLE FINISHES

The Mizzou men's DMR quartet of Jonathan Schmidt (Dresden, Saxony, Germany), Jacob Brunsman (Fenton, Mo,), Chris Conrad (O'Fallon, Ill.) and Kieran Wood (Cambridge, England) highlighted day one for the Tigers, as the group finished in fourth place with a time of 9:38.97.

The mark also moved the men into the program record book with the fourth fastest time in program history, ahead of Mizzou's DMR squad that captured third at the SEC Indoor Championships just a season ago. Nationally, the time is currently the 11th fastest of the season.

Redshirt junior Sydney Oberdiek (Platte City, Mo.) also recorded a top-10 finish, taking home eighth place against stacked SEC competition in the women's weight throw with a mark of 19.59m (64-3.25), her second best throw of the season.

Redshirt junior Arielle Mack (El Paso, Texas) placed 11th in the women's pentathlon with a score of 3492 points. In the long jump, Mack set a PR with a mark of 5.94m (19-6) on her way securing the eight best jump in program history.

Sophomore Derek Parker (Cypress, Texas) also set a PR in the men's weight throw with a mark of 17.43m (57-2.25), breaking his previous record that he set just two weekends ago at the Music City Challenge.
