COLUMBIA, Mo. — Mizzou Track and Field is set to travel to Nashville, Tenn., for the Music City Challenge, which kicks off Friday afternoon and concludes Saturday evening. The Challenge will be the Tigers' final regular-season indoor meet of the 2021 campaign, as Mizzou shifts to preparing for the SEC and NCAA Championships. The meet will be streamed live on SECN+.

After a successful showing at the Arkansas Qualifier, in which the Tigers took home four individual wins, Mizzou will travel to Vanderbilt for the second time this season. To cap off the performance in the Qualifier, the Mizzou men and women took home second and third place, respectively, in a field of stacked opponents from the SEC, Big 12 and Pac-12.

The Music City Challenge will begin at noon CT on Friday with the women's pentathlon. Redshirt junior Arielle Mack (El Paso, Texas) will compete in the five-legged event for the first time this season.

Following the pentathlon, individual field events will begin at 4 p.m. CT with the women's weight throw. Track events will start with the 200m dash at 6 p.m. CT. The team will close out day one with the women's 5000m run, scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. CT.

On day two, the Tigers will kick things off at noon CT with the women's shot put and the 60m dash prelims. To close out the meet, the men will compete in the 4x400m at 3:10 p.m. CT.

Mizzou will send two current NCAA qualifiers to the Vanderbilt meet. Senior Chris Conrad (O'Fallon, Ill.) returns to action to compete in the men's 800m for Mizzou after a week off. He currently holds the fourth best men's 800m mark in the country with a time of 1:48.45. Sophomore Euphenie Andre (Dover Plains, N.Y.) will compete in the women's triple jump, in which her current mark of 13.18m (43-3) ranks tenth in the nation.

In addition to the qualifiers, senior Jayson Ashford (Fairview Heights, Ill.) and sophomore Jonathan Schmidt (Dresden, Saxony, Germany) are set to compete in the 200m dash and 800m run, respectively. Ashford and Schmidt both took home first-place finishes in their respective events last weekend at the Arkansas Qualifier.

Following the Music City Challenge, Mizzou will have a week off before the SEC Indoor Championships, which are set to take place in Fayetteville, Ark. from Feb. 26-27. The Tigers will return to Fayetteville for the NCAA Indoor Championships from March 12-13.
