Swimming & Diving Completes Action at Mizzou NCAA Qualifier

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Sophomore Jack Dahlgren secured a spot at the upcoming NCAA Championships to highlight Mizzou swimming and diving's action at the Mizzou NCAA Qualifier, held Feb.29 - March 1 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
KEY PERFORMANCES
Dahlgren swam a career-best time of 1:39.93 in the 200 back during a time trial on Saturday evening to secure his NCAA berth. The 1:39.93, which moved him into second all-time at Mizzou in the event, moved him to sixth nationally in the event. Dahlgren's previous personal-best time was 1:40.99, set at the 2019 NCAA Championships.
Also with a big personal-best was freshman Kevin Hammer, who erupted with a 19.68 in the 50 free. The time smashed his old best of 20.56 from this year's Mizzou Invite and jumped him up to seventh all-time at Mizzou.
In the men's 100 fly, senior Nick Alexander and freshman Ben Patton both notched best times of 46.35 and 46.85, respectively. Alexander moved up to fifth at Mizzou in the event, while Patton entered the top 10 at eighth. Patton also notched a career-best 43.50 in the 100 free, which is good for sixth at Mizzou.
Other notable personal-bests include freshmen Katrina Brathwaite in the 100 breast (1:00.20), Alex Moderski in the 100 free (49.29), Lili Horvath in the 200 fly (2:00.43) and 400 IM (4:16.85) and sophomore Jack Dubois in the 400 IM (3:45.54).

Swimming invitationals to the NCAA Championships will be announced on Wednesday, March 4 (women) and Wednesday, March 11 (men). Divers will compete at the NCAA Zone D Diving Champions, March 9-11, for NCAA Championships berths.
