COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Men's Golf redshirt sophomore Ross Steelman fired a career-low 64 on Sunday and is T-1 on the leaderboard through 18 holes at the Legends Collegiate Invitational in Nashville. Mizzou is 12th as a team through day one of the three-day tournament, which features all 14 Southeastern Conference programs.
Steelman became the seventh different Tiger in program history to post a 64 or better and the first since the spring of 2019. Steelman racked up seven birdies, including five in a row at one point to post the 64, which is tied for the eighth best round ever in Mizzou history. Steelman heads into day two in a three-way tie atop the leaderboard.
Sophomore Yu-Ta Tsai posted a season-low 72 at the Par-71 Legends Collegiate Invite. He is T-46 after totaling three birdies.
Mizzou's Rory Franssen and Tommy Boone are T-61 after firing equal rounds of 3-over 74 and senior Jack Parker is in 67th after carding a 5-over 76.
