Fay helped Rock Bridge capture four state championships from 2015-18
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Tennis head coach Colt Gaston announced the addition of Eleanor Fay to its roster, as announced on Monday. Fay, who will join the Tigers as a walk-on, captured four team state titles at Columbia's Rock Bridge High School from 2015-18.
A four-year varsity letterwinner for the Bruins, Fay captured an individual doubles state title in 2017, and a third-place finish in the individual doubles state tournament in 2018. During Rock Bridge's four-peat state championship run, Fay helped lead the Bruins to a combined record of 74-2.
"Eleanor is an outstanding kid and a wonderful addition to our program," said Gaston. "I have seen her put in a lot of hard work over the years and it will be great to add local talent to our team. I'm excited to get started with her!"
"Mizzou has always felt like home to me," said Fay. "I have lived in Columbia for most of my life and over the years I have fallen in love with both Columbia and Mizzou. There is truly no other place like it, and I had known for a long time it was where I wanted to go."
Fay chose Mizzou over Creighton and Truman State. Her career ambitions included becoming a military doctor or emergency physician.
