
Mizzou Tennis Continues with Competition at Orlando Invitational

Wright records wins in doubles and singles action for Mizzou
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Mizzou Tennis team won three matches on the second day of competition at the Orlando Invitational in Orlando, Fla. Mizzou won two matches in singles play and one in doubles action.
DOUBLES
Junior Ellie Wright (Gainesville, Fla.) and freshman Elys Ventura (Aukland, New Zealand) recorded Mizzou's lone win of the day in doubles competition, as the team paired up to beat Iowa State's Ting-Pei Chang and Chie Kezuka. It marked the first career doubles win for Ventura.
SINGLES
In singles play, Mizzou picked up two wins from Wright and sophomore Vivien Abraham (Budapest, Hungary). Wright improved to 2-0 on the day with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Rice's Victoria Smirnova, while Abriaham beat Rice's Anastasia Smirnova in straight sets, 7-6 (5), 6-2.
