COLUMBIA, Mo. – Senior Daniel Hein (Sycamore, Ill.) of the Mizzou men's swimming program earned a spot on the 2019-20 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, the organization announced on Thursday. Hein, a 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-America® first team selection, made the Academic All-District® team for the second-consecutive year.

Selected by CoSIDA members, the Academic All-District® distinction is given to student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic accomplishments. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 (on a scale of 4.00), have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.

Hein now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First, second and third team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

A three-time NCAA Championships individual qualifier, Hein claimed five All-America honors in his Tiger career. During his shortened senior campaign, he claimed All-Southeastern Conference second team accolades after three top three placements at the 2020 SEC Championships. He also took home All-America honors as a 2020 NCAA Championships qualifier, earning bids in the 100 fly and 100 back.

As a junior in 2018-19, Hein earned All-SEC first team honors after swimming on Mizzou's SEC champion 400 medley relay, which was the first men's relay in program history to win a conference title. He is Mizzou's 100 back record holder (45.26) and ranks third all-time in the 100 fly (45.86) and fourth in the 200 back (1:41.08).
