No. 7/12 Swimming Set for Tri-Dual Saturday at SLU

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 7/12 Mizzou men's and women's swimming teams travel to St. Louis, Mo., to take on host SLU and Evansville on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Simon Rec Center.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 7/12 Mizzou men's and women's swimming teams travel to St. Louis, Mo., to take on host SLU and Evansville on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Simon Rec Center. 

LAST TIME OUT

Mizzou earned a split at LSU last week, as the men defeated the home Tigers 166-133 and the Mizzou women suffered a narrow 151-149 loss. 

Junior Sarah Thompson swept the women's 50 and 100 free at LSU, with times of 22.58 in the 50 and 49. 73 in the 100. The wins were her team-leading fifth and sixth of the 2019-20 campaign. In the diving well, freshman Leonardo Garcia Varela won both springboard competitions. He tallied 368.85 points to win the 3-meter title, and 309.9 points to place first on 1-meter. Also a double winner was sophomore Jack Dubois, who won the 1650 free in 15:27.21 and the 500 free with a swim of 4:29.34.

MIZZOU IN THE RANKINGS

The Tiger men currently rank No. 7 nationally in the CSCAA TYR Top 25 poll, while the women check in at No. 12. 

TIGERS OWN SOME OF THE NATION'S TOP TIMES

A total of 12 different Tigers own national top 25 times, including six who rank in the top 10. Leading the way is senior Haley Hynes, who currently ranks second in the 100 back (50.70).
