Jacobs, McClendon and Liitmae to Compete at World University Games

Jacobs will compete in shot put and discus, McClendon the hammer throw and Liitmae the javelin
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Track & Field will be represented by three current or former student-athletes at the 30th World University Games in Italy this week. Current student-athlete Jordan McClendon (Black Jack, Mo.) and former student-athletes Gabi Jacobs (Bloomington, Ill.) and Rauno Liitmae (Estonia) are all slated to be in competition in Naples, Italy.
McClendon is slated to compete in the hammer throw on Wednesday. The Tiger junior is coming off an All-SEC Second Team performance in the hammer throw at the SEC Outdoor Championships, after finishing third with a mark of 62.37m (204-7). She currently ranks second on Mizzou's all-time hammer throw list, after producing a season-best mark of 65.68m (215-6) at the Herm Wilson Invitational (March 22). During the indoor season, McClendon earned NCAA First Team All-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Championships (March 10).
Jacobs, a three-time NCAA All-American will compete in the discus on Monday and the shot put on Thursday. Jacobs wrapped up her collegiate career with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (June 8), earning her third consecutive NCAA First Team All-America honor. She has produced personal-best marks in each event this season with throws of 60.25m (197-8) in the discus and 16.08m (52-9.25) in the shot put.
Liitmae, a 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships qualifier in the decathlon, will compete in the javelin on Thursday. Liitmae produced the seventh-best javelin mark in program history at the 2018 SEC Outdoor Championships with a throw of 67.00m (219-9). He enters the competition with a season-best mark of 72.80m (238-10).
