All-SEC freshman team member scored five goals a year ago
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Soccer rising sophomore forward Julissa Cisneros (Moreno Valley, Calif.) has been called up to a Mexico Soccer U20 Training Camp, announced today by Mexico Soccer. The team will gather for a two-week training camp in Mexico City. The invited players will be competing for 21 roster spots on Mexico's 2019 U20 Women's World Cup (WWC) Team. The 2019 U20 WWC will begin late in 2019.
"We're so excited for Jullisa to have the opportunity," head coach Bryan Blitz said. "Her work ethic is second-to-none and inspires all of our players and all of our coaches. It's great to see someone with such a great work ethic and drive get an opportunity at this level."
"Mizzou has helped me seek national team opportunities before I even set foot on the campus," Cisneros said. "I plan to enjoy the camp and make the most of it! ¡VAMOS!"
An All-SEC Freshman Team forward a year ago, Cisneros heads into her sophomore season coming off of a five-goal, one-assist campaign in 2018. Her five goals were the most scored by a Tiger a year ago and her 11 points were tied for the team lead. For her efforts against LSU and Ole Miss, Cisneros was named the SEC's Freshman of the Week (10/1/19 - 10/7/18). On the year, she started 13 of 19 possible contests in her first season in Black & Gold.
