COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Baseball will compete in the 2020 Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic, announced Monday by Major League Baseball and the Houston Astros. The three-day, six-team, nine-game tournament will take place from Feb. 28 – March 1, 2020, in Houston, Texas.
The Houston Astros' Minute Maid Park will once again host the premier early season tournament. Mizzou will be joined by fellow Southeastern Conference programs in LSU and Arkansas, as well as Big 12 schools in Texas, Oklahoma and Baylor.
The annual Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic was founded in 2001. It will mark the Tigers' second all-time appearance in the tournament, as they first participated back in 2010.
Proceeds from the College Classic support Shriners Hospitals for Children and the treatment of children with specialty conditions. Tickets will be available for purchase in November from the Houston Astros' website at Astros.com/CollegeClassic.
