#ShowMe Mizzou Game Notes
Series History vs. Northwestern
- Mizzou leads the all-time series over Northwestern, 3-2.
- This will mark the programs' first meeting since the 2003 campaign. The Tigers and Wildcats met in Phoenix for a neutral site contest with Mizzou falling, 5-3.
- The two programs first met with single-game matchups in 1930 and 1932. Mizzou and Northwestern didn't meet again until 49 years later (1981).
Sikkema Dealing to Begin 2019 Junior Campaign
- Junior LHP TJ Sikkema has continued his impressive three-year career at Mizzou with an outstanding start in 2019. In four appearances (two starts), the Dewitt, Iowa, native has a spotless 0.00 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 19 strikeouts in 12.2innings pitched.
- Sikkema has also limited batters to a measly .178 average. The Tiger lefty joins Jack Owen from Auburn as the only two current hurlers in the SEC with a 0.00 ERA.
Tigers Recently Post Season-High Four-Game Winning Streak
- Beginning with their final two games in Fort Myers (Feb. 23-24), capped off by a shutout victory at Central Arkansas (March 1), the Tigers recently stringed together a season-high four-game winning streak.
- In Mizzou's last triumph in Conway, Arkansas, Sikkema and senior RHP Cameron Dulle combined for the team's second shutout win this season. The Tiger hurlers limited the Bears to five hits while striking out 11 batters.
- Offensively, six different Tigers recorded a hit, while three individuals posted an RBI. Sophomore C Chad McDaniel and sophomore 2B Mark Vierling led the way with their fifth and fourth multi-hit efforts of the year, respectively.
- McDaniel also tallied his second multi-RBI game of the year, matching junior OF/1B Kameron Misner and junior SS Chris Cornelius for the team lead.
