Tigers Finish in 11th in the Team Competition
SADDLEBROOKE, ARIZ. - The Mizzou Women's Golf team finished its tournament play Sunday at the 2019 MountainView Classic with a team round of 299 that put them in 11th place overall in the team standings with a three-day total of 876 (292-285-299).
Senior Amanda Kim (O'Fallon, Mo.) was the standout of the weekend for the Tigers, as she posted a career-best performance, tying for fourth place with a three-round 209 (70-70-69) total for 54 holes. Kim, who finished just three shots out of the lead, tied her career best collegiate round with a three-under par 69 on Sunday, and bested her previous career low tournament total by seven shots. Her T-4 performance marked the first career top-five outing for Kim, and she now has a pair of top-10 showings in her last three tournaments for Mizzou. Kim finished the tournament at seven-under par, coming in under par for a tournament for the first time in her collegiate career. Her 209 total was 12 shots clear of her previous best in the 2018-19 season, when she tied for seventh two events ago at the Lake Oconee Invitational (72-77-72 = 221).
Other competitors for the Tigers included senior Emma Allen (T-45 / 76-71-75 = 222), freshman Keagan Dunn (T-49 / 72-74-77 = 223), senior Cayce Hendrickson (T-49 / 74-71-78 = 223) and junior Jessica Yuen (T-71 / 79-73-81 = 233). Additionally, a pair of Tigers competed as individuals, including redshirt freshman Julia Bower (T-66 / 74-77-80 = 231) and senior Mackenzie Perez (T-71 / 76-80-77 = 233).
The Tigers will be back on the course to wrap up their 2018-19 regular season on April 1-2 in Dallas, Texas, where they will compete in the Bruzzy Challenge. Following that event, they'll have a two-week layoff before the 2019 SEC Championship, set for April 17-21 in Birmingham, Ala.
