Mizzou Swimming & Diving Ranked Fourth, Ninth Nationally

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming and diving programs both rank in the top 10 in the second College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) TYR Top 25 poll of the season, the organization announced on Oct. 23. Then men clock in at No. 4 and the women at No. 9.
The men's team, which were No. 13 in the first poll, vaulted up the rankings thanks to a 190.5-109.5 win over then-No. 7 Florida on Oct. 18. The Tigers dispatched the reigning Southeastern Conference Champions after winning 12 events, including seniors Nick Alexander and Micah Slaton, who won two apiece. Alexander earned SEC Men's Swimmer of the Week honors on Oct. 22 for his performance against the Gators.
The women stayed in the top 10 at No. 9 after a ranking of No. 6 in the first poll. In the dual against the Gators, the Tigers were led by junior Sarah Thompson, who swept the 50 and 100 free, as well as senior Haley Hynes, who clocked the third-fastest 50 back split in history as the leadoff leg of Mizzou's 200 medley relay.
The Tigers are idle until Saturday, Nov. 2 when the they travel to Springfield, Mo., to take on Missouri State at 1 p.m. CT.
