Tigers take the lead on Madison Lewis' goal

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Mizzou Soccer earned their first lead of SEC play on Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as Vanderbilt (10-3, 3-2 SEC) came back midway through the second half to hand the Tigers a 2-1 loss.

With the loss, Mizzou drops to 6-6-1 on the season, and 0-4-1 in SEC play. The Tigers took the lead on a goal from Madison Lewis (Zionsville, Ind.) in the 50' minute. The Commodores would respond with goals 58' and 71' minutes.

TURNING POINT

Lewis found the back of the net for Mizzou in the 50' minute.
A shot from the Tigers was blocked by a wall of Vanderbilt defenders. Lewis was able to get around the wall and fired off a shot that went past Vanderbilt's keeper for the first goal of the night.

QUOTABLE

"I'm disappointed with the outcome tonight," head coach Bryan Blitz said. "I thought we put forward our best performance to date tonight, but now we have to move on to Tennessee on Sunday. I know my team will bounce back."
