COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou Track & Field program continued its tradition of success in the classroom Monday, as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Academic Awards. Mizzou had 15 student-athletes garner All-Academic individual recognition, while the women's program earned the All-Academic team honor.

The All-Academic team award is given to programs with at least a 3.00 cumulative team grade-point-average (GPA). The women's team, which turned in a 3.41 GPA this spring, has earned the All-Academic team nod every season dating back to 1999 (no release in 2002 or 2004).

In order to be named an All-Academic Individual, a student-athlete must have a 3.25 cumulative GPA and either be ranked nationally at the end of the indoor season, or have participated in the NCAA Division I Championships for the outdoor season.

Four student-athletes on the men's team earned recognition, including freshman All-American Georgi Nachev (Yambol, Bulgaria) and All-SEC finisher Kieran Wood (Cambridge, U.K.). For the women, 11 student-athletes earned the honor, including All-Americans Gabi Jacobs (Bloomington, Ill.) and Sophia Rivera (Brentwood, Mo.) A full list of recipients can be found below.

In June, 38 from Mizzou Track & Field were named to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll, while 18 were selected to the First-Year SEC Honor Roll in July.
