COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Soccer formally released its spring schedule Tuesday, February 12 , head coach Bryan Blitz announced. The Tigers will play five games, including two at home in Columbia, Mo., during the 2019 spring season. The highlight will come in Chicago on March 9, as Mizzou will take on the Chicago Red Stars, one of nine professional soccer franchises in the National Women's Soccer League. The schedule also features contests with Kansas State, Illinois, Nebraska and Iowa.
The Tigers officially open spring play on Saturday, March 2 as the squad hosts Kansas State in Columbia. The Wildcats went 4-12-2 in 2018 and 0-9-0 in Big XII matches last season. Mizzou's third spring contest pits the Tigers against the rival Illini on Sunday, April 7 in St. Louis. Illinois won 11 games in 2018 while losing eight and tying once. On Saturday, April 13, Mizzou will travel to Kansas City to take on Nebraska. The Huskers went 9-7-5 and won five of their Big Ten matchups. Mizzou wraps up the 2019 spring season at home against Iowa. The Hawkeyes went 8-7-3 in their 2018 season, winning seven games at home but only one game on the road. The Tigers and Hawkeyes drew in the 2018 season opener in Iowa City.
