Mizzou Wrestling lost one of its biggest fans and supporters over the holiday season. On Dec. 22, 2018, Roger Walker passed away peacefully at his home in Tulsa at the age of 67. Walker was a Mizzou Wrestler from 1972-73 and graduated from Mizzou with a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He also earned his Master's degree in chemical engineering. Walker attended so many Mizzou Wrestling duals over the years and attended 25 NCAA Wrestling Championship Tournaments where he cheered on his beloved Tigers.
"My heart is saddened by the news of former Mizzou Wrestler Roger Walker," head coach Brian Smith said. "Roger was always at our matches and at NCAAs and never missed a match every time we competed in Oklahoma. Please say a prayer for his wife Yenny and daughter Savannah. I will miss my friend, but I will never forget the passion you had for life, your family and our program. Rest in peace."
Walker was a corporate sponsor for Mizzou Wrestling and donated a locker for Mizzou's brand new locker room, among many other contributions to the program. He was beloved by the Mizzou Wrestlers who he supported endlessly during his time. To read his complete obituary and learn more about Roger Walker, click here.
