
Mizzou Cross Country Heads to Chicago for Loyola Lakefront Invitational

30 runners are scheduled to race for Mizzou on Saturday
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Cross Country will continue their season on Saturday as they head to Chicago, Ill., for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational. The women will start first for the Tigers at Lincoln Park in a 5k race at 11:15 a.m. (CT), followed by the men's 8k race starting at 12 p.m. (CT).

The Mizzou men enter the race ranked 11th in the in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional Rankings, while the women are ranked sixth.
For the women, the Tigers will look to build on another first-place finish in their last performance in Normal, Ill., at the Illinois State Invitational (Sept. 14). Mizzou will send 18 runners to the start line for the women on Saturday, including six who finished top-ten in Normal. Freshman Reilly Revord (Hinsdale, Ill.) placed second overall in her last appearance, earning her SEC Runner of the Week honors for the first time in her young career. Freshman Tori Findley (Blue Springs, Mo.) finished third overall in her last performance, which is the second best overall finish on the team this season. Also running for Mizzou will be redshirt junior Sophia Racette (St. Louis, Mo.) and junior Jordyn Kleve (Urbandale, Iowa.).
On the men's side, Mizzou will be looking to improve on a third place showing from their last performance in Normal, Ill., at the Illinois State Invitational (Sept. 14). Redshirt junior Thomas George (Gloucester, England) will look to lead the charge for the Tigers yet again after coming off of a third-place overall finish in Normal, a performance that earned him SEC Runner of the Week honors for the first time in his collegiate career. Also running for Mizzou will be junior Kieran Wood (Cambridge, U.K.), who placed 10th overall in his last appearance, and freshman Martin Prodanov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria).
Saturday's race will be the third of five meets for Mizzou before entering postseason competition. The Tigers will head south to Auburn, Ala., for the SEC Championships on Oct. 26, north to Peoria, Ill., for the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships on Nov. 9, and further north to Madison, Wis., for the NCAA Championships on Nov. 17.
