COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Softball recruit Jazmyn Rollin (Salt Lake City, Utah) was named a Premier Girls Fastpitch All-American and was selected to the 2018 West Team. The East and West squads, made up of some of the best recruits in the country, will play Friday, July 27th in DeAnna Manning Stadium in Irvine, California. The game will air live on ESPNU.
"Congratulations to Jazmyn on being honored as a high school All-American," Mizzou Softball head coach Larissa Anderson said. "It is one of the highest accolades a high school athlete can receive. It will be great when we can get Jazmyn on campus and in that Mizzou uniform. We can't wait to watch her make an impact on our program."
Rollin was excellent throughout the course of her high school career. During her senior season, Rollin hit .585 with a .712 on-base percentage. During her junior season, Rollin broke the state of Utah's single season batting average record (.600), had 47 RBI and hit 16 home runs in 32 games, leading West High School to the Utah 5A State Championship. She was an All-State first-team selection for her efforts during her junior season.
Though Rollin will be Mizzou's sole representative in Irvine for the All-American game, Mizzou's 2019 recruiting class was well represented on Premier Girls Fastpich's Regional All-American teams. Sydney McKinney (Norborne, Mo.) and Caitlin Fogue (Columbia,Mo.) joined Rollin on the Central Region All-American squad.
