Meet Mizzou's Drew Lock. The senior signal caller and three-year starter at quarterback burst onto College Football's national scene a year ago, leading the nation with 44 touchdown passes while earning First Team All-SEC honors. With an elite skillset and the prototypical size NFL teams covet, Lock had a chance to begin his professional football career last year, but decided to but the draft on hold and return to Mizzou for his senior season.
He enters 2018 as one of college football's most heralded quarterbacks on an offense that brings back as much firepower as any team in the nation. Already projected as an early first round NFL Draft pick, Lock and his teammates are focused on winning games for third-year head coach Barry Odom, who took the Tigers to the Texas Bowl, winning the final six games of the regular season in 2017.
Lock should be a front-runner for many national awards by season's end, including the 2018 Heisman Trophy. Below are his stats from last year when he led the SEC in 10 offensive categories. They illustrate the unique and coveted skillset that Lock has.
Mizzou Football will open the 2018 season on Sept. 1, 2018, against UT Martin at Memorial Stadium.
