COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Football senior QB Drew Lock (Lee's Summit, Mo.) is the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, announced Monday by the league office. Lock earns the weekly distinction for the second time this season and first time since Nov. 5 following his performance at Florida. Last Saturday, Lock put together another great game in a 50-17 road win at Tennessee, which was Mizzou's largest margin of victory in a road game since 2008.
Lock was again brilliant in leading Mizzou to the resounding 50-17 road win at Tennessee, completing 21-of-30 passes for 257 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions. His QB rating for the day was 163.96 – his second-best this year in an SEC game. He guided the Tigers to a 484-yard total offense output against a UT defense which had allowed an average of just 294.0 yards per game in their previous three outings. The 33-point victory was the largest by Mizzou ever in an SEC road game, and was the largest in any conference road game for the Tigers since 2008 (52-17 at Nebraska).
Lock moved into second on the SEC career passing yardage list, with 11,599 yards, and is also now No. 3 on the SEC career passing touchdowns list, with 94.
Lock's 71 percent completion rate over the last three games is his best three-game span in SEC play over his four-year career. His QB rating over those three games is 157.8, his best three-game span by QBR in league play since the final three regular season games a year ago. Mizzou is converting third downs at a 57.5 percent clip in that span thanks to Lock's decision making.
Over his last three games, Lock has completed 67-of-95 passes (71 percent) for 760 yards (11.3 per completion, 8.0 per attempt) and seven touchdowns and only two interceptions.
