COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Wrestling RS junior 141-pounder Jaydin Eierman is the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week, announced Wednesday by the MAC office. Eierman, the nation's No. 3-ranked wrestler at 141 pounds, earned a third-period pin over seventh-ranked Sa'Derian Perry of Old Dominion in a 40-3 Mizzou win to open MAC competition.
After a scoreless first period, Eierman landed two takedowns to take the lead in the second. Eierman remained dominant through the third, with a quick escape and takedown. Quickly after, he put his opponent in a cradle and earned the fall with 5:05 left in the third. This was Eierman's 22nd pin of his career, and his second victory of the season against a ranked opponent.
Eierman and the seventh-ranked Tigers host No. 10 Virginia Tech in their home opener this Friday (Nov. 16) at 7 p.m. inside the Hearnes Center. It will be Military Appreciation Night as the program has teamed with the Mid-Missouri Honor Flight to host a special night for veterans.
