MARYVILLE, Mo. – Mizzou Wrestling sent a squad to last weekend's Maryville Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open and several Mizzou grapplers turned in standout performances. Freshman Brock Mauller earned the tournament title at 149 pounds, going a perfect 4-0 with a pair of bonus point wins. Classmate Jarrett Jacques earned second place at 157 pounds, going 3-1 including a technical fall over Austin Singer of Purdue, 18-1, in the second round. He lost in the finals to Illinois' Johnny Mologousis, 4-3, in the final.
