COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Volleyball sophomore OH Kylie Deberg (Hudson, Iowa) and redshirt freshman S Andrea Fuentes (San Juan, Puerto Rico) were each recognized in the Southeastern Conference's Week Nine Volleyball Players of the Week, announced Monday by the league office. Deberg was named the Overall and Offensive Player of the Week, while Fuentes garnered Freshman of the Week honors.
"We're very proud of both Kylie and Andrea for their performances this past weekend," Mizzou Volleyball head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "Both have been working hard on their individual games and their hard work is paying off. For those two to excel individually, it also requires high level play by their teammates, for which we're all very proud of as well!"

The honor marks Deberg and Fuentes' third and second career weekly award by the SEC office, respectively. The Tiger duo was also recognized in Week Seven by the SEC, as Deberg was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Fuentes garnered Setter of the Week accolades.
Mizzou has received seven total weekly awards by the SEC office this season. Deberg now has three honors on her 2018 resume, Fuentes has two and senior MB Alyssa Munlyn and sophomore OH Leketor Member-Meneh each have one apiece. Munlyn tallied Week Two Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Member-Meneh was tabbed the Week Five Offensive Player of the Week.
Deberg was the Tigers' top offensive threat this past weekend, leading Mizzou to victories against Auburn (Oct. 19) and at No. 11 Florida (Oct. 21). The Tiger outside hitter led the team in kills (35), kills per set (3.89), aces (six) and points (44.5). She closed her weekend on a high note, producing a career-high 21 kills and 26 points in the Tigers' thrilling five-set win in Gainesville.
Overall this season, Deberg has tallied 10-plus kills in 20 of 22 matches played. She has been a model of consistency in offensive production in SEC play, tallying double-digit kills in 11 of 12 matches. In conference only action, Deberg ranks third in aces per set, fifth in points per set and seventh in kills per set.
Fuentes continued her leadership at the setter position this past weekend with 85 total assists, highlighted by a career-high 47 assists in Mizzou's win against the Gators on Sunday afternoon. It marked her third, 40-plus assist match this season, all coming in SEC play.
Since the Tigers switched to a 5-1 offensive system featuring Fuentes at setter, the team has responded with a perfect 6-0 record with 13.71 kills per set on .293 hitting. Individually, she has tallied 10.67 assists per set over that span. In last weekend's opener versus Auburn, Fuentes recorded 38 assists and 13 digs, marking her team-leading sixth double-double of the year.
