The University of Missouri Women's Golf team continues its 2018-19 fall season this weekend at the prestigious Mason Rudolph Championship, set for Sept. 21-23 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course. The par-72, 6,335-yard layout will test Mizzou and 14 other teams in the field, including host Vanderbilt, as well as Arizona State, Auburn, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Clemson, Houston, Louisville, LSU, Mercer, Michigan State, Middle Tennessee, North Carolina and Wake Forest. Eight of the 15 teams finished the 2017-18 ranked among the nation's top-30, making this field one of the fall's most competitive.
Head Coach Stephanie Priesmeyer will go to battle with the same starting five that opened the season two weeks ago in Minnesota, with junior Jessica Yuen, seniors Emma Allen, Amanda Kim and Cayce Hendrickson, and junior Cherise Otter filling the one through five slots in the lineup, respectively. Yuen led the way in the season opener two weeks ago at the Minnesota Invitational, as she tied for 17th place overall with a three-round 220 total (72-78-70) to finish four over. Just one shot back was Hendrickson, who tied for 22nd overall with her three-round 221 (74-72-75).
This week's appearance will mark the sixth time Mizzou has competed in the Mason Rudolph, which began in 2001. Mizzou hasn't competed in the event since 2006, but did so five straight falls, from 2002-06. The Tigers' best team finish in that stretch was a 4th-place showing in 2004 - the same year that Denise Knaebel set the program tournament record for best individual finish (T-3rd), lowest 54-hole total (216) and lowest round (67 - 3rd round). Knaebel's final-round 67 that year marks the only sub-70 round turned in at the Mason Rudolph by a Tiger in 75 rounds.
Eighteen holes will take place all three days Friday through Sunday, with fixed tee times on number one and 10 starting at 8:30 a.m. (central) each day.
